Who would you/should we start with and why?
Personally I want Davie back in, Ross has done fine and while his distribution and ball at feet is perhaps a bit better, he isn't in McGurns class, not yet.
No experience playing in the fixture either, don't want another Andy McNeilgate saga type thing happening! |

I voted for Ross staying in goal for the Eastend clash but would have preferred McGurn to have been in
For this to have come about though I think D McG would have to had started on Saturday against Cowden. I know he's got to make a return sometime but his coming straight back in against the Pars doesn't feel right and for this reason I voted for Rossco. I doubt Bert will change keepers unless Ross isn't fully fit. _________________ Competitive goals: Vaughan 19, Easton 11, Hamilton 10, Smith 9, Stanton 7, Mullin 4, Connolly 3, O'Reilly 3, Rudden 3, S Brown 2, Dick 1, Gullan 1, Masson 1, Matthews 1, Millen 1, Mitchell 1, Murray, Watson 1, OG's 1, |

How long would Dave hang around at Stark's Park if he can't get back into the team? I can see him leaving at the end of the season .....if his contract is up then. A very capable keeper that maybe P Thistle would make an offer to. Would suit both parties just fine especially if they go up to the SPL (as I think they will) despite Morton's efforts just now. Voted for Dave for experience and ability to maybe hopefully command the defence in front of him a bit more. _________________ Talk on! Talk on!

I would like both in goal at the same time we might get a clean sheet .
I do like laidlaw , but i think it's time for a bit of a shake up in defence so hill and laidlaw out for mensing and the cat .
Didn't vote . As I think both keepers are excellent in there own right . |

Ross is a very promising keeper and he is definitely the future, I expect him to be the undisputed no 1 next season or the one after.
However, if we are to have a chance of beating the Pars, climb the table and have a chance against Celtic, Davie need to be back between the sticks.
Having said that, I agree with the poster who said that if Davie was to have a chance of playing v the Pars, he needed to be playing last Saturday. He didn't so I expect Ross will be playing. |

Indeed he is part time and that was a reason for my line of thinking. PT is close to home, in a manner of speaking, so would mean less travelling. Maybe there would be a hitch though with training should everyone else be full time. _________________ Talk on! Talk on!

Has not been a case of Davie only being on the bench the last few weeks to fill a jersey? That's happened before that the keeper has been a sub when he's not been fit, and not just at the Rovers. At the Mackems Craig Gordon was sub keeper for months a couple of seasons ago when he was still out injured, Sunderland just needed someone to sit on the bench to avoid getting fined for not having a keeper on the bench (presumably they didn't have a good enough third choice available). There was somebody else down south who had the sub keeper sitting on the bench whilst on crutches but I can't really remember who it was.
If that is the case though Davie definitely won't be playing, however watching him at half time against Cowdenbeath he doesn't look too far away from a return. Unfortunate he probably won't be available but Rossco is easily the best keeper I've ever seen come through the Rovers youth team so it's not exactly a disaster. _________________ "I'd much rather be playing Bayern Munich and be competitive for thirty minutes, than murdering Stockport 8-0 in the Freight Paint-Rolling Trophy or whatever it's called." |

Would choose McGurn.
Dont get me wrong Laidlaw is a great keeper, excellent in shot stopping and got a good kick on him. Though find McGurn better in how to organise and lead the defence. That bit comes with experience which Laidlaw has not got yet. But if Laidlaw develops like he does now then he certainly got the future. _________________ Twitter: @litmaan

Theyre both down training at the Beveridge Park right now, Just back from a wee walk. Good to see they're definately preparing well for the big game. |
