Didn't get to the game due to work, but gutted, Falkirk really are a boggie team for us, and Baird well don't get me started, can't stand the boy but damn does he put them in the net....watching the highlights seems a lot of positives and near misses to take from the game, back to hard training and the results will come |

Whilst I appreciate the main stat from the last 3 games is 0 points we've still had a few decent chances to take something from those games. Not the end of the world at the moment. Hopefully the players confidence doesn't take a dip so we need to get back to winning ways sharpish. QOS and Morton are catching up with us but there's a fairly sizeable gap between us and the rest of the teams below us. The main 'wtf' result was Livi. No shame in losing to Hibs and Falkirk both of which are doing well and yet we were still a wee bit unlucky not take something from those games. We've got a few winnable games (imo) coming up so lets see how we get on after that. |
Plus, we only won 6 games at home in the league last season, this season we've already won 5. It took us until 15th November to clock 2 home wins last year. |

We are only 3 points better off than this stage last season, albeit we didn't pick up any points between then and Christmas last season. |

Technically we were on 15 points but we had only played 12 matches. We then beat Cowdenbeath at home to make it 18 points from 13 matches.
I think we are a week behind this year because the Scottish cup has started later this season. |

Is McKinnon a better manager than Murray, time will tell, but from what I've seen so far, I'd say yes. That being said, people who were touting for Murray to be sacked and then rejoicing on McKinnon being appointed need to remember that despite the manager, we probably have the same if not less budget than last year. What does that matter ? Well it means that even though the personnel has changed on the park, you really are shopping in the same supermarket (to quote the special one). Reality is, we are the 4th/5th/6th best team in the league and we are relying on the manager being better organised tactically than the previous and the players being just that little bit better than last, with better luck than last year.
4th place is probably about our level, whats the big deal with where we are ? The performances are better than last year, but we are going to get beat against teams like Hibs, Falkirk and even Livingston - its a competitive league. If anyone thought McKinnon would come in and make us world beaters in a few months is crazy.
Also, for the goal from Baird.. Yes it was a mistake, an individual mistake that happen in every game, unfortunately this one led to a goal. I am sure no one more than Davo would be annoyed with himself, but individual mistakes happen in games. 10 seconds before that, we were up the other end of the park in a good position Robertson played a overhit pass to Toshney (a mistake) which was terrible and then Toshney tries to cross it and slips (mistake) when he should have stopped it and then crossed - Falkirk get the ball and score. |

The point AU is we are better off, allbeit only 3 points, but that is a improvement coming from a new manager and virtually a whole new squad.
It took bill shankley and don revie 3 years to build two of the best teams ever to grace football. I think maybe you should be a tad more patient dont you???? _________________ now enjoying my fishing time, at peace with nature. but being a avid radio ham my global contacts have increased. any hams around call me lz2csk on 14200 or their aboyuts |
