Oh dear...I don't think I'm your favorite person then tonight - sorry. |

The page 'football away days' on Facebook has posted a video from Rangers' end during game with them all singing about hating the pope and IRA
Glad they put pennies in our coffers but they don't half spout a load of needless pish! |

I think thats now just 1 win in our last 11 league games!! and no goals scored in our last 4 league games..The fact we are in 4th place is masking some serious issues with our team. No matter what McKinnon says we are in a dire run....Now I am not against the manager or instigating change but I wonder if the board are looking at our results and form rather than our league position...IF this keeps up, we wont be in 4th for long..How long can he keep saying we are a good team and he has no complaints with the team. Numbers speak for themselves
Amazing to think we are still in the playoff race..
1 win in 11 - most managers would be ditched by now.. hopefully showing faith and patience given our injury crisis pays off with a late run to consolidate 4th in the second half of the season..
on the game.. looked dire on RaithTV....pitch looked shocking also, hardly surprising given the weather back home i guess. |

Guys
The manager seems very content to accept we are not getting drubbed and every week tells us he has no complaints and the boys gave everything.
This concerns me when Robertson is stealing wages, Callahan is just not delivering and MCkeown seems to be seriously lacking confidence and hiding in matches.
Add to this that a few others are under performing and he is feeding us tripe.
We have one of the largest and most experienced squads in the league and yet we are awful to watch.
If he is purely concentrating on saying we are fourth on merit then I am sorry he is wrong.
The record is awful when you look at the fixtures and he is sugar coating the situation.
No way do I want him out but I do want him to start managing and changing things and showing that if you don't perform you don't play. _________________ aqm |

I think its a bit harsh to criticise the team or the manager too much. Rangers were excellent last night their passing and movement and the pace at which they passed the ball on was actually great to watch. It was like a game of two touch football at times and we just could not get close to them. It was simply a gulf in class and quality.
That said the game plan was working perfectly as we limited them to a deflected free kick save by Cuthbert until McKeowns stupid error right on half time gave them the initiative.
Second half we showed a bit more adventure and actually were in the game for a period of around 20 minutes until the chalked off goal. Rangers though saw it out comfortably in the end.
This was always a free game for us. Never expecting to take anything so wasn't disappointed in that regard. The new boy looked composed but struggled to get on the ball such was Rangers domination.
I think what's hurting us right now is one point from six against Alloa and Dumbarton. That could be telling with back to back games against Falkirk and Morton coming up.
As for last night - it maybe sticks in the throat of most but Rangers were simply a class above anything we have to offer and look certainties to win the league title on merit.
What I would like to know though is how Rangers supporters in the home end told us leaving the ground they were given home end tickets at the Rovers office and told to hide their scarfs. If that is true it makes a total farce of the ticketing arrangements and the absurd level of Police security at the home end. |

There were plenty in the south stand concourse making no attempt to hide their colours.
In fairness, the atmosphere was so flat that nothing was ever likely to kick off, but had Rovers' goal stood then who knows? _________________ Dougie Hill

Im pleased in that the defence has improved dramatically from last season.
That Rangers team are years ahead of the one who played us like fools last season and we largely kept them at bay.
Very very little to feel good about after the defence though. No midfield. Callachan ran about alot but shat out of every challenge, Robertson was consistent with late, Connolly is a skillful wee player but no presence at all - easily ran off the ball. Longridge just looked awful.
Stewart also - terrible. Really struggling to find redeeming features for him as a striker now.
New guy showed some nice touches, looked very eager and good strike for the "goal". Deserves a start next time out as he already contributed more than any other forward player.
Tough night, tough to judge as although we looked utterly toothless, that same team had a good number of chances against Dumbarton and Alloa.
Need to start scoring and soon, the league is starting to bunch up a bit now. |

The defence switched off momentarily just before half time, that was enough for the only goal of the night.
The defence played well otherwise and Cuthbert was solid, making a couple of good saves.
As others have mentioned, it was further up that we struggled. Toshney looked the only midfielder capable of taking the game to Rangers; their midfield had the freedom of Starks Park.
Further upfield, Connolly is too lightweight, he needs a centre forward capable of holding the ball up to bring him into play. Longridge did his best, he isn't a centre forward, he was better coming in from the wing in previous matches.
Stewart - we may as well ahve played with 10 men. I don't remember him beating a man or laying off a pass successfully. He needs to leave at the end of the season, he is a waste of a wage (he should have left instead of Megginson). Hopefully wee Lewis is back soon, so Stewart can be on the bench permanently for the rest of the season.
The subs: Craigen and Panayiotou gave us a bit more of the ball when they came on. It was always a tough ask for Harry, coming on for his 1st game against the league leaders, had some decent touches. Time will tell. Craigen looked concussed, that brought on Anderson, that helped us chase the game as he has a bit of height.
THis was a game we weren't expected to take anything from, but having taken 1 point from 6 against Dumbarton and Alloa, we needed to take something, even a goal would have helped.
Next four matches are tough, Falkirk (a), home double header v Livi and Morton then Rangers (a), we will need to take a minimum of 6 points somehow, with 3 preferably coming against Morton (one of our rivals for 4th spot). _________________ A proud member of the 45. Saor Alba. |

As for Rangers. Waghorn started brightly then spent the whole match moaning at officials and waving his arms, Zelalem looked to have good touches but seems a bit lightweight, Foderingham the keeper seems comfy with the ball at his feet and doesnt panic and often played the simple pass to Tavernier or a decent thump up the park. Tavernier for me was the best player with his attacking options but when a full back is your best attacker then there is something wrong with the forward line. However he faded in the last 15 mins or so. Overall the best team one but it wasnt easy to break our defence down. |

This time last year we were knocking Rangers out of the Scottish Cup, we should savour those moments as they will be few and far between.Defensively we were reasonably solid but considering we made no attempt whatsoever to go forward in that first half then it's not surprising we were able to smother most Rangers attacks. That said Rangers could have been further ahead than they were at the break.
The double header against Livi and Morton is going to define the rest of the season for us. Anything less than 3 points and we are going to stutter to a finish. _________________ Fantalk~Often wrong but never in doubt |

I doubt it will go as slowly.
I foresee a luge like slide, namely feet first, into the end buffer drift of total mediocrity with one or two minor twists and turns on the way. _________________ Talk on! Talk on!
