v Thistle 2238
Anyone think this is off the mark?
I have been a bit suspicious since this time last year when the game at home v Dundee was given as 4700..... many Dundee fans were struggling to find a seat that day so if the away allocation is 3300.... were there less than 1500 home fans in South stand/Main stand that day?
I thought there was at least 3000 there today but could be wrong, how accurate IS our counting system? Is there something 'dodgy' going on? |

SB, you ask if it is more, less or spot on , but you haven't put the 'spot on' option up to vote on. |

I have brought this question up many times, yet strangely enough i think todays attendance figure was near the mark. The south stand was probably only half full at best, the north stand around 400 pt fans and the main stand lucky if there was 300.
Lets wait 2 weeks and see how many at the derby game before we make any further judgement. _________________ now enjoying my fishing time, at peace with nature. but being a avid radio ham my global contacts have increased. any hams around call me lz2csk on 14200 or their aboyuts |

do ya think season tickets are not included in the
calculations ?????
I definatly think there is some differance with the crowds
in big games gone by but we gauge the crowd guessing by the
50/50 payouts |

The turnstiles are all electronically programmed to record the exact number of fans attending the games. |

Erm...would imagine its pretty much spot on. Especially if the above post is true. Was pretty sparse yesterday so figures probably true.
Rubbish turn out for the first game of the season though. |

Ah, you got in without going through the turnstiles then. Just joking pal. _________________ now enjoying my fishing time, at peace with nature. but being a avid radio ham my global contacts have increased. any hams around call me lz2csk on 14200 or their aboyuts |

Every season this argument rears its head.
Comps count as part of the overall attendance.
Seasons count as part of the overall attendance.
Regardless of what method is used to 'pay' or enter the gate, whenever someone goes through the turnstile, it clicks on a wee counter, and all those wee counters from each turnstile total up on the main computer in the office, thus giving the attendance.
The computer is turned on at 2pm, so any fans entering the ground pre-2pm (hospitality, to use the bar etc etc) i assume don't count in the overall crowd (however, all those who go to use the bar and receive a transfer ticket will be counted when they then enter through the South stand.)
I'd estimate Partick had about 450 fans there yesterday, which would mean 1800 odd in the home end, which seems about right. Although it was the league opener, it was the 3rd home game in as many weeks, with the previous 2 being derby matches. We also play the pars in a derby in a fortnight, so i can understand fans saving their cash for the bigger games.
I was slightly disappointed by the home crowd, i would have hoped for 2000+, but our crowds generally fluctuate between 1500-2000 out-with big matches.
Edited to add: Where's the option for 'spot on' in the vote?! |

Perhaps comps are excluded from the official attendance? _________________ A proud member of the 45. Saor Alba. |
