Terrific surprise to be able to watch this game - thank you very much to all at Raith TV for making this possible! When I think back to some of the Fife Cup Finals I have attended, I promise you that I never imagined lying in bed in England, watching one live on my IPhone!
Incidentally, I was in Southport & Chester in 2007 and never saw the Rovers play yet!?@ |

Where's the common sense ?
2-1 down with seconds remaining, then the floodlight fail, surely you just award the tie to Cowdenbeath |

Confirmed on Twitter that there was a PA announcement saying that the match was abandoned. |

I left when the ref blew for the end of the game.
Apparently the game was restarted though and the final 2 mins were played but no more goals were scored. Cowden win 2-1.
Another bizarre twist in a crazy season. _________________ Competitive goals: Vaughan 18, Easton 11, Hamilton 10, Smith 9, Stanton 7, Mullin 4, Connolly 3, O'Reilly 3, Rudden 3, S Brown 1, Dick 1, Gullan 1, Masson 1, Millen 1, Mitchell 1, Murray, Watson 1, OG's 1, |

The ref, phone the SFA and was told that if both teams agreed they could re-convene the match and play out the last 2 minutes on his watch. Both managers seemingly agreed and the two minutes were played with no further goals. Cowdenbeath lifted the cup.
By my watch they had played 95 minutes but I suppose extra time was added for substitions. Raith were the more creative team in the first half and created more clear cut chances hitting the woodwork twice and missing a couple of sitters but Cowdenbeath were the better team in the second half and their second goal was a craker.
I didn't like the way the ref. had a long go at James Berry in the second half for complaining about a bad tackle from behind that was blatant but I reckon that these young Raith players will learn a lesson from this game. |
