It has been announced that John Hollins has passed at the age of 76.
I have read a couple of articles today about his footballing career, mainly about his time at Chelsea.
No where have a found a mention of his time with us. Albeit cut short due to indifferences with Anelka. |

Quote: | He spent a short time as the assistant manager at Raith Rovers in 2004, under Claude Anelka—the brother of Chelsea striker Nicolas Anelka.[7] He resigned following disagreements over tactics and team selection with Anelka.[7] |

Raith is mentioned in the BBC Sports article. Just scroll down to the managerial appointments bit.
I liked watching the Chelsea team of Hollins, Harris, Bonetti, etc., in the 1960's. _________________ Talk on! Talk on!

Being based down south through the 70s and 80s I remember him as a player mostly, quality player, solid and silky smooth. Had the chance to chat to him a couple of times when he was here, nicest bloke always had time for people. Despite the complete mess he found himself in, he still oozed class. _________________ http://www.helpforheroes.org.uk/ |

RIP JH. A good guy who came on and made an immediate impact at the Airdrie game. Then realised the scale of the issues and the quality (lack of) around him, couple this with others unwilling to take advice and he promptly (and rightly)
got out of Dodge. _________________ Competitive goals: Vaughan 18, Easton 11, Hamilton 10, Smith 9, Stanton 7, Mullin 4, Connolly 3, O'Reilly 3, Rudden 3, S Brown 1, Dick 1, Gullan 1, Masson 1, Millen 1, Mitchell 1, Murray, Watson 1, OG's 1, |
