Stanton back. Big plus for me
Byrne, Brown and Stanton in the midfield with Easton hopefully back on form in front of a big crowd.
Need a win and the recent poor form will be a distant memory. _________________ Two pints prick |

Will the November team turn up or will the January team turn up. I would guess the former - I hope so! Our recent and miserable form, with Dundee United's league position and superior goal-difference could make them complacent, if not arrogant, no matter what Goodwin says to them. They won't be as nervous as they were when we went to Tannadice, which could be a good or a bad thing. I could make them calm and confident or cocky and careless. DU are not in terrific form, it is just that we have been even worse - much worse, which makes them look better than they really are! That is a pretty formidable squad we have now if, played wisely. Considering our recent form, it is amazing that we are still where we are, but yes we absolutely still have everything to play for! This is the exact time that Ray McKinnon's side started their run of wins. Can you imagine what a straight run of wins would do for us now, especially if we won tomorrow? COYR!

Let's face it guys, if IM can't get the squad up for this game then all the good work at the start of the season will be for naught. Thistle, Morton, Airdrie and even Queens are on good runs, we absolutely must win this game or I can see us struggling to make the playoffs at all. _________________ http://www.helpforheroes.org.uk/ |

I don't neccessarily agree that a defeat would see us struggle to stay in contention for the play-offs. Sure, our recent form was going to see us lose even fourth place - no two ways about that - but I doubt that Barrowman and Co would allow that to continue. I would say that DU playing us off the park and / or gubbing us would be a sign that nothing changed. A draw (hard fought or unlucky) would not be a disaster, albeit better for DU than for us. It would not be a bad result on paper and would be an improvement on our defeats to Inverness, Airdrie and Livvy. A very unlucky defeat would put us on the back-foot for automatic promotion alright, but if the wins came back afterwards, consolidating second-place shouldn't be too hard. For me, third and fourth place mean Championship football - for any team.
Winning the league is our best hope for promotion, but that said, a side on our November form might just edge two rounds of play-offs.
I would take a lucky win, but a convincing win might be a game-changer for our form! |

We need to turn San Starko into a fortress again and that needs to start tomorrow night, by that I don't mean parking the bus either, we must go and out play, out fight United and want it more than they do. There will be no complacency on their part, they want revenge and we must be up for the fight and win the game well. _________________ http://www.helpforheroes.org.uk/ |

Interesting that Matthews has done all the media stuff with the BBC today.
Hopefully that means he's going to be significantly involved tomorrow. _________________ Dougie Hill

Not only a record attendance in the Spfl era, first time ever that gate receipts at Stark's Park will have 3xceeded £100k - by my calculations, probably close to £120k. Every little helps! 😊⚽👍 |

Yes, I agree-these should be exciting times. I can't help being concerned, however, by all the rumours about fall outs in the dressing room. Have we seen the last of Millen? Does the manager really think Kyle Turner is a better option than Ross Matthews? What has happened to Easton's 'wonder boy' status? I still believe that we can, and should, do it. Tonight will give us the answer one way or another. |

I just hope the crowd can get behind the team.
Everybody knows that the encouragement that flows from the terraces/ stands can get an extra 10% out of the players.
Me screaming at my telly not gonna help them, but those that are there need to take the initiative and make more noise than anything heard so far.

Come on, Cuparman, don't be at home in front of the TV this evening!
Grab one of the few remaining tickets and zoom across from Irvine!
You don't want to miss the Starks Park atmosphere this evening as we close the gap on United!!! |

I too hope the crowd are up for it tonight, my worry is that like the team the fans confidence has taken a knock too.
Two or three thumping challenges and the team urging the crowd (remember Millen's reaction after that block up at Tannadice), some of that and those on and off the park will feed off each other. _________________ Competitive goals: Vaughan 19, Easton 11, Hamilton 10, Smith 9, Stanton 7, Mullin 4, Connolly 3, O'Reilly 3, Rudden 3, S Brown 2, Dick 1, Gullan 1, Masson 1, Matthews 1, Millen 1, Mitchell 1, Murray, Watson 1, OG's 1, |

Right now I would happily take a draw. Results and performances have not been great recently. A point tonight and we can take confidence and build from it.
For me it's all about securing that 2nd spot. As the board have said, we are further ahead than what they had planned for. I'm sure at the start of the season it would have been all about getting into the playoffs. |
