Use Vaughan sparingly in the next three games do he's primed for the playoffs. Proved today that he is our best player. Immediately looked more dangerous when he came on with his intelligent movement causing the Patrick backline more problems than they had to deal with previously. _________________ Fantalk~Often wrong but never in doubt |

I agree, Castle. We were having difficulty getting up the park in the second half until LV came on , despite Rudden being a more physical presence. Unfortunately he put his best chance over the bar but played well.
A draw was fair overall, although Partick may feel hard done by ,having hit the crossbar twice.
Josh Mullin received the MotM award. I guess they had a difficult choice to make and Mullin did seem to be making more effort to get to the byline than in recent matches |

More for the SPFL to gain you mean, robbing sods take 50% of the gate for the privilege of seeing 'wee' teams clamouring to get get in to the top league _________________ http://www.helpforheroes.org.uk/ |

Clinched 2nd place with games to spare, 20 points ahead of the Pars. Would have taken that at the start of the season.
It’s been a great season and it’s not over yet. _________________ Two pints prick |

Today was played like an end of season dead rubber. Again Murray thinks we shaded it .... what? Nonsense.
Its easy for IM to take the plaudits as he keeps reminding us of his achievements - at the same time being responsible for bottling a title challenge with that car crash line up at Tannadice.
Would I gave taken second placec at the start of the season? Absolutely.
Ultimately second spot given the opportunity thrown at us feels disappointing. |

UNlike you to paint such a negative picture, NR
Point by point:
Yes Thistle hit the var twice, but I would argue strongly that we were the better team, better quality possession, some great passaages of passing, all in all a good showing.
Decent team/formation selection today, good balance across the starting 4-4-4-2 (Smith showing up front alongside Rudden). Proper centre half pairing must be kept for remainder of season, with Brown holding in midfield. Also, good choices for front five - and followed by substitutions which seemed sensible enough.
Not much between the sides and, truyh be told, we are closer in quality to Thistle and Airdrie than we are to United, but that represents a huge improvement on last season.
I'm now more encouraged and looking forward to the play offs, especially if we an use next three weeks to build momentum. onwards and, hopefully, upwards!! |

A draw was a fair result today as neither side dominated chances or possession but I'd say we shaded it in both of those metrics so I'd agree with the manager. I also think it's harsh to say Murray bottled it a Tannadice. He definitely got it wrong but that's not the same as bottling it. Thirteen years ago McGlynn bottled it at East End by not believing in his players and shoehorning defensive players out of position. At Tannadice Murray was guilty of being too gung ho in his line up and believing in those players too much.
I've got some criticisms of Murray but seems silly to air them just now when by the middle of next month he might have led us back into the top flight. _________________ Fantalk~Often wrong but never in doubt |

Fair points SDR and Castle. I just think a massive opportunity has been missed.
After 33 league games I'm concerned that the manager doesn't appear to have or know his strongest starting line up.
I can't see us building momentum for the play offs if Murray persists with 4 /5 changes every game. For me the lack of continuity is killing us.
But yes the progress is great all around the club. |

Just curious what others think here. When you look at the squad this season, would another manager (not Goodwin obviously) done better? _________________ http://www.helpforheroes.org.uk/ |

I don't know RZ. I flip flop between thinking that we have a really strong squad some days to thinking that some of our players aren't as good as I thought they were or were going to be. _________________ Fantalk~Often wrong but never in doubt |

Had dinner with a Jag pal of mine - he said that Ruddens header was definitely over the line and should have been given as a goal - Rudden certainly would agree with that. _________________ Here Wee go again |
