I thought bates was outstanding last night. There were a number of times he stopped attacks down our right, especially Wallace. His attacking side of the game lacking unfortunately but I'm sure centre half is his natural position. Cannot see thomson walking straight back into the RB slot. |

As someone on P&B said, we've been robbed of a legimate goal against Rangers, and an obvious penalty against Hibs.
Add that to pen shout against Dumbarton, the pen against Davidson at Dumbarton (away), shots off the line against Dumbarton, an absolute pearler vs St Mirren...I do have some sympathy with Mckinnons view that we lack a bit of luck.
But we need to score soon. Simple as. |

Just watched the highlights and can understand why Ray was raging at Harry's disallowed goal! What was Toshney supposed to do, not challenge for it?! He jumped highest and won it clearly because the Huns dumpling didn't jump; it was never a free-kick and the goal should have stood.
Nevertheless, we have a small squad and a limited budget, with the squad having been ravaged by injuries; regardless of these obstacles, we have remained in 4th place. Now, there is finally 'light at the end of the tunnel' as the squad returns to some semblance of the one that began the Season. As a result, there is much reason for optimism so, I am at a loss to understand the 'doom-mongers' on here! C'mon Rovers, c'mon Ray and Ally, keep fighting - there is much still to be played for, this Season! |

Alas Embow, we already are in the realms of total mediocrity. If only we could return to our early season passing style that saw the centre half pass to a midfielder who would pass it to another midfielder who would pass it to the full back who would then pass it along to the first centre half who would punt it 60 yards up the pitch. Lately we have been missing out the pass to the full back. _________________ Fantalk~Often wrong but never in doubt |

But this is your forum not Leicester's, so back to Rovers
I'm glad he had a good first game, and once he's up to the pace of your league hopfully he can pop a few in that count this time. |
Just seen that goal and got to say your not wrong!! |

Aha! World beating silky smooth soccer! That missing extra pass must make all the difference by catching the opposition off guard due to the speed of play.
There's maybe hope yet if they could narrow the gap to a 50 yard punt.
Put these two together and you get something called tactics! _________________ Talk on! Talk on!

Most Raith managers of recent years think that tactics help keep their breath fresh. _________________ Fantalk~Often wrong but never in doubt |

Shocking that the ref sees fit to penalise Toshney, but completely ignores the arm into Craigen's face. _________________ Dougie Hill

Rangers were excellent last night their passing and movement and the pace at which they passed the ball on was actually great to watch. It was like a game of two touch football at times and we just could not get close to them. It was simply a gulf in class and quality.
That said the game plan was working perfectly as we limited them to a deflected free kick save by Cuthbert until McKeowns stupid error right on half time gave them the initiative.
Second half we showed a bit more adventure and actually were in the game for a period of around 20 minutes until the chalked off goal. Rangers though saw it out comfortably in the end.
This was always a free game for us. Never expecting to take anything so wasn't disappointed in that regard. The new boy looked composed but struggled to get on the ball such was Rangers domination.
I think what's hurting us right now is one point from six against Alloa and Dumbarton. That could be telling with back to back games against Falkirk and Morton coming up.
As for last night - it maybe sticks in the throat of most but Rangers were simply a class above anything we have to offer and look certainties to win the league title on merit.
What I would like to know though is how Rangers supporters in the home end told us leaving the ground they were given home end tickets at the Rovers office and told to hide their scarfs. If that is true it makes a total farce of the ticketing arrangements and the absurd level of Police security at the home end. | Good post, we did defend well as a team and restricted Rangers to very few chances, they probably created less on Tuesday than any other game they have played all season. We were sloppy in possession which is why we didn't create very much but with players coming back from injury we will be still fighting for a playoff place come May |
