David Potter passed away this morning. Sad news. David was a brilliant author, collector of all things Raith Rovers, local history and in his many other interests.
I saw this on the Kirkcaldy and Dysart in Old Pictures and Postcards, a post by Donald Manson (I hope he doesn't mind?)
I was saddened to read this morning of the passing of David Potter, friend and top contributor in our group, David posted our Sunday weekly "one hundred years syne" topic, which if like myself, many of you looked forward to reading.
David passed yesterday morning at The Victoria Hospital.
David was responsible for authoring many books both local interest, and Sporting books. Raith Rovers, Dunnikier Cricket Club, and Glasgow Celtic being among the topics he wrote about with great passion.
I send my condolences to David's wife and family. |

A good man indeed, great conversationalist on many if not most subjects. I was at school with two of his children and one of them is married to a great friend of mine. Always had fond things to say about Raith as well as his love of cricket, Celtic and Forfar.
Rest in peace sir. |
