I see this game as an ideal opportunity to give Aiden Connolly a good run.
I understand from IM's interviews that Aiden is fit and therefore, in my opinion, we must play him. I understand the need for Ian to be careful as to whom he should drop in a starting line up. However we must get one of our best players from last season back into the team, and if good performances follow, he should be back on a regular basis.
Montrose are a decent Team, but in all honesty if we want to finish in the top four of the championship, we ought to be beating teams like Montrose, and adding Connolly to the starting line up should in no way be detrimental to a win. It could quite easily be a great confidence booster for the lad. We are not exactly trying out a rookie teenager here!

A chance to get minutes into the legs of players who aren't getting many, especially Connolly and Gullan. Also important to get the win so the club can have some money coming in during November. As it it stands right now we have a home league game on November 4th and then no more home matches till December 9th. _________________ Fantalk~Often wrong but never in doubt |

Yep - seems a no-brianer. As HR says, it wouldn't exactly be like fielding a youth-team. A bit of game-time for Watson too maybe? |

The only problem there is you don’t get any money in this Cup until you go crashing out. The payout for tickets from a next round match would be immensely variable depending upon the opponents and location. |

Well that'll be a good problem to have when the alternative is no income at all coming in one weekend and only a yet unknown Scottish Cup tie at the end of November during a four week spell. _________________ Fantalk~Often wrong but never in doubt |

Not to be cynical, but you also have reduced costs as you’re not paying game day costs either. While the Rovers may have been hand to mouth before, it seems clear that the income stream has been smoothed (and supported, when needed) under the new ownership. |

I believe it is, and will be available PPV too, if I recall correctly...but some people might find that bothers them. |

I carefully considered this, and would love you to explain how economic realities vary in the Lang Toun such that it is equally expensive to either host or not host a match at Stark’s Park, as this is obviously what you must be referring to. |

Apparently a sickness bug through the team, hence the depleted bench. _________________ Dougie Hill

Haven't done much wrong in the first half.
Maintained a degree of patience and eventually opened them up.
Their goalie has been outstanding.
They'll sit tight as long as it's just 1-0 and try to do something from a set piece as, other than the goalie, they're a big side. _________________ Dougie Hill

As comfortable a home win as we will see all season. Apart from the first ten minutes of the second half we were never in doubt. For an injury and illness ravaged squad it was fairly easy. Hopefully Easton and Byrne are not badly injured. Stanton, Byrne, McGill and Easton were excellent. _________________ Two pints prick |

Hannah is a very large laddie…someone said 6’2”, but he looks bigger…almost like a lineman in American football. Seems to be quite nippy too, quite interesting to see him play a little. |

The second half was as flat as the proverbial witch's tit, but we still managed two very well taken goals.
I suspect some of those who played today were suffering from the sickness bug, just not as badly as those who missed out - McGill looked shattered by the end.
A pal of mine who's an Arbroath fan, messaged me at full time hoping for a quarter final against the New Saints. I can't believe he'd rather play them than have a few pints in the East Dock Bar and a live sex show in a shelter in Leven bus station. _________________ Dougie Hill
