A statement from the Board on Facebook and X/Twitter setting out the future for those who don't comply.
It only needs to make an example of two or three and maybe, just maybe, common sense will prevail. _________________ Talk on! Talk on!

Unless someones arrested not sure how the club go about banning supporters.
Photograph of said person/s holding a pyro?CCTV?
Difficult to do even through ticket/seat number as many dont sit in the seat their tickets bought for,or even the ticket could be bought by someone for someone else _________________ THERES FIVE OF ME |

Agree wholeheartedly.
It is dangerous and causes damage to pitches and could easily harm fans.
These people need to grow up and realise the harm/damage that they can do.

The smoke show is popular, the pyro is dangerous, particularly because it’s prohibited and thus is born the “snuck and chuck” culture. There are non-pyrotechnic smoke bombs, but they aren’t as cheap and available. Perhaps the club could try to find a way to get permission from the SPFL/SFA to test some version of permitted use of smoke devices. Get them away from the numpties at the back of the stand tossing them, and into a more controlled use like we see at other locations around the world….safely

I get it that the pyros can add to the match atmosphere.
The problem here is that some of our less intelligent "supporters" think it's a good idea to light these things and launch them into fellow supporters sitting in front of them. This has happened twice now at home to the Pars last month and during the week at EEP.
On both occasions, fans minding their own business have had clothes/ footwear ruined . Given the damage shown on social media to the persons jacket at EEP these things clearly have the potential to cause injury, possibly quite serious injury.
The incident at SP happened right next to me. The total lack of interest by the Police and Stewards in at least attempting to deal with the situation caused things to turn really ugly in terms of fans anger. I wonder if the police and stewards would be quite as lenient if someone affected by this lynched one of the perpetrators?
I would think not so its incumbent on the club to try and deal with this in anyway they can before either someone is injured or people start taking the law into their own hands.
I know that Andy Barrowman was contacted personally by a number of fans after the incident last month so it is good to see some kind of public response following this latest incident. |

Arrest them, charge them, ban them. Most atmospheric game I’ve ever attended was the Coca Cola Cup Final. Number of pyrotechnics: zero. |

I've no idea where this notion that they add "atmosphere" comes from.
I can't imagine these things are totally devoid of fire risk and I can't imagine someone who has asthma or some other respiratory condition would take kindly to them.
If the police and stewards don't start dealing with it, unfortunately I can see people being prepared to take the law into their own hands and dishing out a slap to someone holding or throwing them. _________________ Dougie Hill

There are also smoke bombs that don’t use pyrotechnic charges to produce the smoke. Commonly used as “grenades” in paintball matches. Not as cheap or voluminous as the pyro types, but pretty darn safe. |
