Opening game v Germany the hosts. Favourable draw so far with one team to be drawn yet🤩 _________________ Talk on! Talk on!

It’s a very good draw! Being ultra picky you would have swapped Switzerland with one of the play off winners but it’s a group we should hold little fear in. Germany are a shambles right now so will have huge pressure on them going in to opener… Hungary and Switzerland are close to 50/50 games on paper so we have a really decent chance of progression… (til we find a way of messing it up!) |

Happy with this draw - could have been so much tougher! |

It wouldn’t be the first time that a Scottish underdog has gone to Munich and given a German side a tougher game than they expected. Remember 1995.
Reaction so far suggests the Germans are happy with the group. Low current morale and the recent poor results probably lead to increased nervousness regarding whether they would get a group they could qualify from. Rudi Völler, now Director of football in the German FA., is looking forward to the many Scottish fans. |

Only concern is that with a passionate home support and the first match of the finals we could be facing an uphill battle if we lose. However, it is certainly a favourable group but would have preferred one of the other two as our opening fixture _________________ Two pints prick |

We caught Spain cold early on in the Qualifiers, admittedly at Hampden, so it could be your best chance against Germany ,who often are slow starters . Often the main mantra with teams in the first match is not to lose. |

My thinking too, Franco. Some here may accuse me of undue optimism, but getting past the group stage is well within this squad's capability |

That's Tierney out injured again. Back after rupturing his hamstring in October and he ruptures it again on his come back. |

Lewis Ferguson now out with a ruptured ACL. He's been on fire recently in Italy and also with a potential move to Juventus in the summer. |
