Quite incredible. Should have been more than one up by half time after a dominant first forty five minutes but we did get the second shortly after the restart with a fine goal fron Easton. Now I don't know how Doolan tweaked it but fair play to him because what he did worked. I don't think it was just a case of us being two up and getting complacent. Thistle were running through us for around fifteen minutes and got their three goals. No idea if it was a penalty or not for their equaliser but regardless they were causing us all sorts of problems down the wings. This time it was Murray's turn to earn his crust and the subs definitely made all the difference. Vaughan and Mullen off (not that either had played badly) and Connelly and Smith come on. With a bench of such quality no game is beyond us though I must admit to wondering if this was going to be one late comeback too many. Yet again though this group just don't stop. The hunger and desire to win was evident with the quick free kick that led to the winner. Nobody was thinking about just settling for a 3-3 draw . Struggling to remember a game that would have been more entertaining for a neutral at Starks Park and I'm looking forward to watching that second half on the iPlayer later on. _________________ Fantalk~Often wrong but never in doubt |

Just rewatched the highlights to make sure I wasn't dreaming it all. Tremendous game which could have been any score you dreamed off really.
Couple of things I spotted on the highlights. Vauaghan was offside for Eastons goal, Murray was lucky not to have 2 pens against him, we should have had a pen/free kick when Stants was wiped out in the 2nd half, O' Reiley gave away the third because he didn't check his shoulder, don't blame him so much for the second, I think he expected Murray to get a head on it.
Great match and great advert for this league.
IM said post match on the TV that we need someone with Usain Bolt type pace, I don't agree, I think and upgrade to O'Reiley/Murray would be my first choice, purely to get someone who will be that wee bit more consistent and savvy.
Weather is currently set fair for Gayfield midweek, should be a good game up there with them getting a new boss bounce and likely a boost with a win over Morton later today. _________________ http://www.helpforheroes.org.uk/ |

RZ, Connolly gives us pace but puzzlingly we don't give him nearly enough of the ball. That beautifully curved shot of Aiden's was net bound, even when it hit the post from the angle he hit the ball, logically it should have struck the inside off the post and gone in BUT it struck the post and came out.
Anyway, the South Stand was actually rocking when we were dancing and singing the Dylan Easton song at....... 4-3.
Just the Rovers way. |

The first penalty claim in Murray which wasn't given was the correct decision. Murrays arm was up but the shot hit his leg first therefore nothing he could do. Out first goal I didn't think was a corner but I will take the break for a change.
You say Vaughan was offside for Eastons goal, I will have to see it again. Was he interfering, blocking keepers sight?
I saw Murrays interview in BBC and enjoyed his dig at Pars. Stewart and Mcleod were commenting on the bench celebrations and Murray laughed, saying dont tell Dunfermline!!!! |

Up early this morning and immediately on to iPlayer to rewatch the match ,see the incidents that were not clear in the stadium and find out what the BBC commentators were saying!
What. A. Squad !
IM has some selection headache for Wednesday. He may go down the route of squad
rotation for that and the United game.π€ |

Watching the replays Iβm not convinced Stanton was in the box when brought down. Close one though.
OβReilly had a mixed night. Wins a lot in the air, scored and an own goal. Not sure him and Murray worked but we still won.
Get Byrne signed up!
Some of our passing in little triangles is a joy to watch.
Finally, ref had a shocker with the keeper colour clash. _________________ Two pints prick |

From what I saw on the tele.
A wee word for the Young Team.
Nah! A huge shout to them!
Thanks guys for taking the message on board.
No pyros. No pitch invasions.
Great to see and hear your encouragement and enthusiasm from up the back of the stand.
Well done.
Keep up the good work πππππ _________________ Talk on! Talk on!

I have always been under the impression that a goalkeepers top had to be distinctly different from the rest of the team.
Patrickβs goalie wore the exact same colour but with a slightly different pattern.
Now any player who is trying to use his peripheral vision ,would struggle to distinguish the goalie from an outfield player.
I personally have never seen a goalie wear a shirt that looks anything like the same as his team mates.
How did the Ref not spot thisβ?π€¨π² _________________ Born a Rover Live a Rover Die a Rover |

I'm with you in regard to the Keepers top Cuparman. In my many long years of watching and playing football I have never seen anything that clashed like this. How the ref allowed this obvious blatant similitude to go unchallenged is way beyond my understanding.
The team were absolutely fantastic on Friday and pretty much everything has already been posted regarding the game. I would add one extra point. I think Brown, yet again showed why he is one of the best acquisitions this club has made. His calm control was yet again in evidence when he came on, and it is my opinion his very smart thinking in taking the free kick quickly, was the making of Stanton's winning goal.
