Still raging at that utter diabolical collapse last night, too much tinkering with the team selection, Murray is just another McGlynn with his easy osey approach, ok it's got us into the top 4 but come the end of March will we still be there if that performance is replicated in all the away games, next up Dunfermline I wouldn't bet on winning that one either |

A massive "un coup de pied dans le derrière" required for the next game, indeed all the games that are left in the season.
I have always accepted getting beat as long as the team put a shift in and lost to the better team on the day. That didn't happen last night, particularly in the last half hour.
Maybe, just maybe, (trying hard to be positive here!) that result and performance will in fact be that much needed "un coup de pied dans le derrière"
I (and everyone else) hope that's the case🤞🤞 _________________ Talk on! Talk on!

IM deserves his share of criticism. So far as team selection is concerned, tho, what was wrong with the team that started? Played well, very well ,at times ,especially Vaughany and Zak Rudden, until Arbroath scored. It seems a squad weakness that they can't hold a lead and don't react well to losing a goal after being up. It's happened almost a dozen times this season, and not just a fault in last night's team.
In neither interview ( BBC or You Tube ,sadly not on the new site 🙄 ) did IM blame the
conditions / wind ,to his credit. He also, diplomatically, managed to avoid calling out Big Kev for his game of Statues.
I do wonder why our top scorer ,LV, who was bang on form , was subbed. Yes, bringing on Sam Stanton was the right call but why wasn't Turner the player to go off? Was LV injured in some way?
Let's hope IM is not over optimistic in thinking Keith Watson may return against Das Pars. He is a big player for us and big influence on the whole defence.
Let's not throw in the towel just yet. There is much to play for this season.
C'mon The Rovers. |

I may be wrong but didn’t Watson have two really good headed chances to score and simply blew it?.
Was he not also culpable for 1of the conceded goals?.
Not seen the highlights yet but I do remember thinking at the time that he didn’t cover himself in glory.
I may be wrong, if I am then I will take it all back. _________________ Born a Rover Live a Rover Die a Rover |

Didn’t Watson go off injured in the first half and was replaced by Brown? He may have missed the two chances but definitely wasn’t culpable for any goals conceded as he wasn’t on the park for the second half. _________________ Two pints prick |

Cry unlucky if you like about injuries to defenders but Ian Murrays defensive signings have been awful. Corr and Murray not good enough, Watson made of chocolate and James Brown? I can't begin to tell you what his failing are.
This was a game where once again a single goal margin came in to play and where we paid the price for not killing a poor team off.
Defensively we s**t the bed, you can smell the panic every time the opposition put a ball into the box, in that respect KD is a bombscare keeper.
With the wind and the sleet at their backs Arbroath were up for it, Rovers looked like they clearly didn't fancy it. Add in Murrays silly substitutions (again) and it all adds up to what it was... pathetic.
And before someone says it, this isn't knickers wetting, just the basic facts of the matter. _________________ Competitive goals: Vaughan 19, Easton 11, Hamilton 10, Smith 9, Stanton 7, Mullin 4, Connolly 3, O'Reilly 3, Rudden 3, S Brown 2, Dick 1, Gullan 1, Masson 1, Matthews 1, Millen 1, Mitchell 1, Murray, Watson 1, OG's 1, |

How do we know Corr isn’t good enough? If IM’s judgement is suspect, as you suggest, why trust his judgement that Corr isn’t ready/good enough? |

Too easy to blame the defenders but where were our midfield in the second half to create chances or stop their midfield pushing forward? Turner and Matthews disappeared after having a decent first respectively. Byrne fought for everything but was outnumbered. Still hurting after that defeat but somehow we are still in the title race. Learn from the mistakes and look forward to the next match. Still in our hands. _________________ Two pints prick |

Corr must be horrendous in training with 2 left feet and running about like a headless chicken......or why else would he not get a chance when we have injuries to two CBs and the better option is a midfielder!!! |

It's one IM can't win, either he's signed a dud or Corr actually is a player and Murray isn't playing him. _________________ Competitive goals: Vaughan 19, Easton 11, Hamilton 10, Smith 9, Stanton 7, Mullin 4, Connolly 3, O'Reilly 3, Rudden 3, S Brown 2, Dick 1, Gullan 1, Masson 1, Matthews 1, Millen 1, Mitchell 1, Murray, Watson 1, OG's 1, |

No, Scotty - those aren't facts, they are just your opinion and, in my opinion, it does amount to knickers-wetting.
Before you get on your high horse, as it happens, my opinion of Friday night's performance is similar to yours in many ways, but my conclusions are different:
- we are an above average Championship team, no more and no less. United aren't any better than us; and you could argue that Morton, Airdrie and Thistle are all there or thereabouts in their various ways. But, whether by good fortune or by a set of better results than others in the division, we find ourselves challenging for the title. To that, I say "Hurrah"
- we can compare our battle with United to that between Celtic & Rangers, who both lost unexpectedly this weekend. After we beat United two weeks ago, both teams have won a game, been held to an uninspiring draw, and been defeated surprisingly. So it's 'as you were', now with 10 games to go. To that, I say again "Hurrah"
- we might win the league, we might not - but either way, we know there are a good few players who, for better or worse, will NOT be with us next season. Clearly, most people are of the opinion our defence would be cannon fodder in the Premier. I agree with that. But that's only a worry if we go up and then don't sign any new players between May and August. So on that score, I'm taking a chill pill.
- most fans would say our manager makes some unexpected decisions - but again I'd reckon most would say hwe's getting more right than wrong. And so, I put my faith in him that Ross Millen has done something unforgiveable and won't play again; that Dylan Corr might be a good player but isn't ready for our title challenge (remember his gaff at Annan?), so has become a loan signing that unfortunately doesn't fit what is now needed; that the substitutions work more often that not (witness scoreres of late goals etc)
To conclude, I'm just enjoying the roller-coaster ride - we all know that we have to take the lows with the highs. I'm 56 years following this team, and many readers here are of similar vintage (Scotty, you included), so I know that's the script! |

I'll raise your 56 years to my 67 years but otherwise everything else you have written is exactly my take on the current situation.
Rather have the roller coaster at the top and not down in the trough at the bottom.
PS. Honest guv! I did start very young following the Rovers.😉 _________________ Talk on! Talk on!
