Another must win match in terms of our title tilt. Win it and put some pressure on Utd ahead of their Friday match against Morton.
We've not managed to find a way past Airdrie this term but like how we are anxious about potentially facing Dunfermline in the playoffs because they are surely due a win against us the same applies here. It's not as if Airdrie have played us off the park they have simply out run out and out fought us where and when it mattered. Match them for industry, be resolute in defence and let our technically gifted players do what they do and we have a great chance of getting the victory.
There was a bit of squad rotation on Saturday but if Ewan Murray is totally ready I'd expect him back in the line up so either Brown moves into the midfield or him or Byrne will be on the bench. I'd expect Vaughan to return and the expense of Hamilton and Mullen to replace Connelly. _________________ Fantalk~Often wrong but never in doubt |

I hope Scott Brown gets back into his natural position. He gives his best, but he is ordinary in defence, outstanding in midfield.
I can't see us beating Airdie after our (mis)fortunes against them this season. My guess would be a dull draw. I hope I'm wrong - I really hope we win for once. Securing at least second place is pretty much academic, at this stage, but automatic promotion is far from it.
I get why most on here would want to avoid the Pars in the play-offs - the wounded beast - with a chance for revenge and the chance to overtake us and get promotion at our expense, for the first time in a long, long time. My take is different. We know we can beat the Pars. They are not sure if / how they can beat us. Airdrie know for a fact that they can beat us. We are not sure if we can beat them. Airdrie have it all to play for and anything other than a home win tomorrow, would fill them with confidence about meeting us in the play-offs (if they get that far).
Tomorrow's game will be another potential dress-reherasal for the play-offs. A home win, would keep us in with a very realistic chance of winning the title, secure at least second place, but far more importantly, it would remove the mental-block that "we never beat Ardrie". That block would likely need to be gone, if we were to even get a crack at (probably) Ross County in the play-offs. We will not win this game by turning up on auto-pilot. It will take for every single player to play they way they have against the Pars and Dundee United this season. Nothing less will do. IM has his work cut out, to pull something special out of a hat and finally get a win against his old side - and demonstrate that we are not where we are in the league-table by accident. |

My homies’ be sleepin’ on Partick Thistle y’all
I’m not usually one for labelling games as ‘must win’ but hard to see this one as anything else.
Our players need to get fired into them from the off |

I'm hoping that IM sticks closely to Saturday's line up.
If Euan Murray is fully able to be restored to the defence , then I'd play Scott Brown in midfield along with Rossco and Sam Stanton. Shaun Byrne would be unlucky to lose out. We desperately need to prevent Airdrie playing through us as they have done in the previous meetings. We also need to marshall Todorov , which is most likely if Watson and Murray play at CB.
However, I think it unlikely that IM will rest LV for two games in succession. Keeping Saturday's formation would put Lewie on the left side ,with Dylan Easton moving onto the right. He's unlikely to drop Dylan after his last performance, but you never know with IM, so it could be Mullin on the right.
There have been many important matches this season but , somehow, this one seems to be make or break.
C'mon The Rovers ! |

Given it’s a Tuesday night and previous midweek matches have been available to buy on RaithTv - is this a possibility. Asking for me. _________________ Here Wee go again |

Probably unlikely as there are European Champions League quarter finals on featuring Arsenal and Man City.
But I may well be way off the mark.
As long as the Rovers aren't tonight and Airdrie are!😉 _________________ Talk on! Talk on!

Mine bought too as I live 150 miles away and only finished work at 1830. Hoping for a win! _________________ Two pints prick |
