Not much enthusiasm after the performance on Tuesday.
No suggestions from me re team selection but wondered if anyone knows what is happening at the Forth Road bridge. On Wednesday I witnessed a tail back on the Forth Bridge approach from the M8 all the way back about 1 mile on the M8. Someone said there are roadworks for a few weeks. The other tailback westbound on the M8 was more impressive though (unless you were in it) at least 10 miles back toward Edinburgh after a crash.
This will impact those travelling from Glasgow and from Edinburgh - I am planning on the train at the moment. _________________ Here Wee go again |

Having spent years driving back and forth along the M8, I eventually saw the light of going via Kincardine-A92.
You miss out on the going 70-40-50-30-60 etc etc along that supposed quicker route, its Also a lot less stressful going kincardine, mainly due to very quiet road conditions.
Travel between fife and west coast/ Glasgow is as quick and less dangerous than M8.
Try it, you won’t go back to m8 unless you live along it or in Edinburgh.

I discovered years ago when we used to play Dumbarton, it was easier going to Stirling then taking the A811 to Balloch then down to Dumbarton, a lot less stressful. _________________ Hope he's got plenty Rovers action to comment on tonight.... |

We will know by 10pm on Friday night the importance of this fixture…
If Dundee Utd win in Greenock then it’s pretty much all over. They will be left with 3 remaining games v Ayr Utd at home followed by Airdrie and Thistle, both of whom will likely be taking it easy before their play-off.
In a way, it might be better for ourselves if they wrap things up, giving us a few weeks to focus and hone ourselves for our own play-off. So often you see sides (like Queens last season) who can’t get over the disappointment of a near miss, lack focus and subconsciously chuck it in come the play-off. |

Pretty much agree with SB although think if Utd draw tonight its pretty much over.We still need a point to secure 2 nd spot though which makes Thistle game importantish _________________ THERES FIVE OF ME |

Not looking forward to this. We're absolutely rotten at the moment, can't defend and lost our attacking flare we had earlier in the season. We will still grab second place but may need to wait a couple of weeks.
1-2 Thistle with BG causing havoc. |

Steven Lawless is out for them. Happy with that as I think he's decent for them. |

The fear is that the players will feel deflated as ,barring a miracle, our chance of automatic promotion is gone.
IM and CC must earn their money and pick them up.
We need to find a settled starting eleven to take us through the Playoffs.
ATM sounding like LV's role will be from the bench.
PS I just know someone will say that the chance of promotion by whatever route should be motivation enough , which is true, but some things have changed and the squad needs to be re-energised . |

Deflated or re energised and playing without fear? Regardless of the result I have little hope that we will manage to put in a great performance. We've seldom done that all season. Dundee Utd have thumped several teams over the course of the season. We've not done it once. I don't think we've won a match when the opposition fans couldn't have made a decent argument for deserving at least a draw. Now granted you could say the same thing for our defeats (except the last two) but that just underlines how we really aren't that much better than the rest, the chips have just fallen in our favour more often than not. Look at this way if the league was to start today does anyone think we'd finish second after another 36 games?
As for the line up today who knows. No idea what the best or most effective combination is and more worryingly after 32 matches and over half a dozen cup games neither does the manager. _________________ Fantalk~Often wrong but never in doubt |

I watched an interview with Jeremy Doku yesterday who stated “no football team rotates their side as much as Man City”
Scottish Championship not your bag Jezza?
I’m considering giving today a miss. Not feeling great and plenty sport to keep me occupied from footy, golf and horses all the way up to UFC300 later…
I’m still fairly hopeful for play-offs. |

Strong starting eleven and very solid on the bench, so there shouldn't be complaints about starting selection this time around. _________________ Talk on! Talk on!

That’s a wee bit cynical…IF we win out, and DU have a win, a loss and a draw, we win…OK, yea, a miracle, |

As it stands the promotion playoffs are locked* for 3 and 4, just jockeying for position…and Queen’s are in really difficultly.
*Edited to clarify “barring a huge GD swing”. |

An uneventful first half apart from Partick hitting crossbar after yet again for some inexplicable reason we decide to just allow a player to rampage forward towards our box unchallenged. How many times does this have to happen before we learn? _________________ Fantalk~Often wrong but never in doubt |
