Byrne looked like he had done 10 rounds with Tyson. Dabrowski was sensational tonight _________________ Two pints prick |

Whilst I am not in the first flushes of youth which may account for memory issues but in 50 years of following the Rovers,
I struggle to recall such a goal and such a save.
I have no more words |
Possibly the late Ronnie Coyle's effort against St Mirren in the 7-1 howking on the first day of the 92-93 season ? That's about it as far as I can recall. _________________ Talk on! Talk on!

Firstly, thank you Willie Kirk for your sterling efforts in previous fixtures.
Secondly, I think that this could be the game that sees us back in the mix with United. I don't think for one moment that we'll be title winners but we need to get back to some form to cement second place, if for no other reason than the monetary gains. No better game than this one to put the wheels back on the track. |
Bump!😄
Called it! Does this mean I get another go starting the next match thread? Maybe one is enough, as I may have peaked early 🫣 _________________ Talk on! Talk on!

It was backs against the wall for long periods, the Arabs passed us off the park.
But that never say die attitude is back and Broonie's goal was a thing of beauty.
I have to say, the Arabs front three guys are just THUGS. |

We had the chance to eat into the goal difference but settled for 2-1, disappointing. |

Maybe so but it wasn't overly productive. One attempt actually on target in the second half right at the end which brought out the huge save from Kev. Nonetheless, absolutely spot on with your observations Tam. _________________ Talk on! Talk on!

I mentioned the Dundee game from 2011 which was won with an almost last second winner and this game turned out to be very similar. Don't think Alan Walker's goal was quite as far out but not far off it.
Think in a way Jack Hamilton changed the game. Not from anyway he played , though he performed admirably, but from his tackle on the Utd goalie as he tried to marshall the ball out. They both got a yellow for the handbags afterwards but it got the south stand engaged again after it had fallen flat after the restart. From that moment on we seemed to be back in the match though obviously the introduction of Connelly and Easton helped in that regard as well. Mullen and Smith did very well, industrious and hard working they laid the groundwork that allowed Easton and Connelly to go up against opposites that had their energy levels sapped. Those four compliment each other well with their differing styles.
Big Kev got the man of the match and it's hard to argue against that but if I were I'd put forward Liam Dick. Proved a lot of his naysayers wrong with an outstanding performance. Actually thought the entire back line done well and it may have been the most impressive performance from Ewan Murray since his return.
Yet another game where the outcome had been decided by a single goal and it could have easily went the other way tonight but to hark back to my previous post the team did indeed manage to rummage up yet another memorable moment. Tremendous. _________________ Fantalk~Often wrong but never in doubt |

In all the excitement of the game, and the goal, and the result, it's also been an extremely special Rover's day for me. The bottle of Shipwrecked Whisky bought just before Christmas finally arrived today after much delay. I'm indeed a happy chappy this evening. A day to savour indeed.👍🥃 _________________ Talk on! Found the Dundee I've been talking about on YouTube.

Incredible how empty the south stand looked when you consider we were a month away from the seasons end and were top of the league if I recall correctly. _________________ Fantalk~Often wrong but never in doubt |

What a magical coincidence there was last night and with another great victory a few years ago.
Bringing Mark Campbell on at half time to talk and carry out the 50/50 draw and at Dents Park not long after Mark's horrendous car crash and subsequent bad injuries, and Mark was brought on just before the game and the Rovers fans went crackers and we went on to a famous victory. |

Last night's win will surely be a major boost to our confidence on the back of recent results. Another late winner, which was a worldie was great. Looking at stats for possession and shots on target, both teams were similar.
That said I did not think we were great in the middle of the park. We were getting no where near any second balls and more often than not we resorted to punting the ball up the park and losing it. The first 20 mins or so of the 2nd half Utd bossed up albeit the did not threaten too much.
For the result, Murray must take credit for playing the right subs at the right time. I'm not a fan of 3 subs at once however last night this was spot on and you could see different they made instantly. It was clear that Goodwin was content for the point where as Murray went for the win. |

Watching the highlights that have been put up and what's with Watt going right up to big Kev when Utd got their goal. He done a similar thing a few weeks ago when they played Inverness. Canny stand him. Thinks himself a big shot despite the fact he struggles in a championship team.
Was reading Goodwins post game comments. It seems we upset him again with our celebrations. He made the comment asking if medals were getting handed out after the game!!!!!! |
